Julian M Kilsby is a UK based photographer from Birmingham in the West Midlands.
“These days I almost exclusively shoot fashion and travel photography. But my professional background is in a range of photographic fields including portraiture, wedding reportage and wildlife.
I use bold colour, expressive lighting and an edgy visual style to create a hybrid of the quirky and the intense. Somebody once described my work as ‘high fashion with an alternative edge’…… I liked that comment.
I work with clothing designers and stylists to create striking fashion images that capture intricate detail, expressing attitude, vision and dramatic style.
And I love to travel, to experience as much of this world as I can. My travel photography expresses my view of place and culture, bringing this extraordinary world into focus”
Julian is not only a freelance photographer, he also teaches photography and is Degree Leader of BA Media Photography and MA Freelance Photography at Birmingham City University.
