Julian M Kilsby is based in Birmingham, West Midlands, and specialises
in contemporary lifestyle photography and wedding reportage.

He has a professional, yet relaxed and informal approach to his photography, with a creative vision and expressive eye for detail, design, composition and ambience.

Julian is not only a freelance photographer, he also teaches photography and is Degree Leader of BA(HONS) Media Photography at the Birmingham Institute of Art and Design, University of Central England.

“I have been passionate about photography for as long as I can remember. To be able to 'see' a moment in time, to observe form & character, to interpret and capture the essence of reality in a single frame – that’s the pull of photography. And the desire to take and to make photographs tempers everything I 'see'..... Always knowing that there’s a shot in there somewhere!

My professional experience is in a number of photographic fields including candid wedding reportage, portraiture, travel, product, and interior design photography.

    To me, photography isn’t like work……. It can’t be, I enjoy it too much.”
